Hobart Airport opened on June 23, 1956, on what was once the rural property ‘Llanherne.’ It was Australia’s seventh busiest airport by 1957. It was privatised in 1998 after being run by the Federal Department of Aviation.
Hobart Airport has grown steadily since then, today serving over 2 million people annually.
